Grammatophyllum stapeliiflorum (Teijsm. & Binnend.) J.J. Sm. is the most exotic species among the Genus Grammatophyllum because it is the only species that has a truely pendulous inflorescence and a manageable plant size.
Flowers are of heavy substance with heavily brownish purple spots and markings. Also the flowers are long lasting like other member of the genus.

Flowering Period : May to August in cultivation in Bangkok.
Distribution & Habitat : Occurs as an epiphyte at sea level to 500 metres in southern Philippines, New Guinea, Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Sulawesi and western Malaysia.
