Warmth Tolerant Cymbidium (WTC) , or Cymbidium with Partial Heat Tolerance

WTCs are cymbidiums that can bloom in climates without intense heat such as sub-tropical zone, generally located between 17^๐ N and 30^๐ N and 17^๐ S and 30^๐ S. This is the area where winter is more pronounced than in the tropical zone, and there is a certain period of time during the year when night temperatures fall below 18ºC (64ºF) continuously for up to several months.

WTCs usually have more specific blooming season than HTCs. WTCs can also bloom in both sub-tropical and temperate zones but there is some shift of blooming time between the two zones. In temperate zones, WTCs usually bloom from late summer to early winter. Most WTCs cannot bloom in tropical zones, those regions between latitude 17^๐ N and 17^๐ S, but they can grow well vegetatively.

Note, cold tolerance is partially reduced for WTCs. When exposed to freezing temperatures for an extended period of time, damage is greater than those of standard and cool-growing types but less than HTCs.

ซิมบิเดียมกึ่งทนร้อน (WTC) มักมีฤดูออกดอกที่แคบกว่ากลุ่มซิมบิเดียมทนร้อน (HTC) มีความเฉพาะเจาะจงสำหรับฤดูการที่ให้ดอกเด่นชัดมากขึ้นสามารถออกดอกได้ทั้งในเขตอบอุ่น (Temperate Zone) แต่ฤดูการจะไม่ตรงกัน คือมักจะให้ดอกในปลายฤดูร้อน จนถึงต้นฤดูหนาว หรือ ปลายฤดูใบไม้ผลิจนถึงต้นฤดูร้อน เมื่อปลูกในเขตอบอุ่น
