C. Peter Pan is a hybrid between C. ensifolium and a standard green-flowered C. Miretta. Peter Pan is widely well-known for being a parent of many commercial ultra-early cymbidium hybrids. This is because its progeny can come out in all shades of colour.

C. Peter Pan won't become a corner stone in cymbidium hybridization if it had not been converted to tetraploid by Dr. Don Wimber. After the conversion, Peter Pan became fully fertile and extensively used in hybridization.

C. Peter Pan is considered as a WTC since it can bloom in Bangkok only during the very cold winter year. However, it will bloom regualry anywhere above the latitude line of 17^o.
